    About Devtribe

For this DevTribe Gathering, we welcome you who want to delve into and share your knowledge about DevOps. We meet to share ideas, experiences, and mistakes. No one is an expert, but everyone has something to contribute. The schedule follows a robust, sustainable format: a common theme, a few short thought-provoking talks, and then an open forum where people talk in groups dynamically created based on interest.

    How a Tribe Works

    THEME

When the event is planned, a theme is also decided and announced. The theme should ideally be current, exciting, and suitably narrow. Not so vague that you don’t know what it’s about, but also not so narrow that there’s no room for new angles. After that, there is a call for speakers, and anyone can sign up.

    LIGHTNING TALKS
Lightning talks are concise, and a typical duration is about 10 minutes. The speaker can speak undisturbed and use their time as they wish. It's common to share something from one's own experience that may be helpful to others. If the event is half a day, there are often about four lightning talks and a full day usually has room for almost twice as many.

    OPEN SPACE
This stage often becomes dynamic and creative. The idea is that those who have listened will pick up certain aspects from the lightning talks they want to discuss more. You might want to know more about it, or perhaps air your own experiences on the topic. Everyone with suggestions for topics writes a post-it note and argues for their cause. Then, we vote together on which topics we should prioritize. Once that's done, we create small groups to share our thoughts based on the topics. No one is a leader, and everyone is responsible for contributing to a fruitful exchange.

When you go home, your head is full of new ideas you want to apply. In addition, you often make many valuable contacts and gain useful insight into other contexts.
